Strawberry Gose
Gose is a type of beer with origins from Leipzig, Germany, specifically from a mountain town called Goslar on the Gose River. It is a refreshingly sour, salty beer, that lends itself beautifully to a wide range of fruits and syrups.
At Canard we love our Goses, and the Canard Strawberry Gose is testimony for our love for this special sour beer. The hazy, salmon pink, high carbonation beer is enjoyed for its fragrance and blend of citrusy coriander seeds and a bright strawberry bouquet. This beer is unique in the way that the natural acidity (not hops), balances the salt, malt, and yeast. And as with anything of this caliber, fresh is always best.
COMPATIBLE GLASSES
Pilsner glasses are tall, skinny, with a slight outward curve on the mouth. This shape will enhance the flavour and aroma by keeping the foam head intact. This glass is the perfect medium to showcase colour and carbonation of the beer.
Tulip glass is designed with a bulbous body and a slightly flared rim. The wide body allows for the swirling of aromas. And the flared rim assists in the head retention. The Tulip is best for Belgian ales, and aromatic beer styles.
As champagne makers start to abandon the Champagne Flute and start to really adopt the white wine glass for Champagnes, the champagne wine glasses are designed still with the same brief, that is to focus on bubbles. The champagne wine glass is the perfect medium for anything sparkling. It is best used for very lively styles like sour beers and crispy ales.
Teku is a glass designed by two Italian beer experts, Teo Musso and Lorenzo “Kuaska” Dabove (from whom the name “Teku” was derived), the Teku glass is designed to be the best all-rounder glass for any beer style. The long stem helps to keep the beers at optimal temperatures, while the design of the glass is intended to capture and release the beer aromas via the outward curve. Teku is appropriate for a wide variety of styles, but its design really shines especially for sour beers and strongly aromatic beers.
The Champagne Flute is designed with bubbles in mind. Flute glasses are typically etched to help release the effervescence, the steady release of CO2 helps concentrate delicate scents and help assess the quality of bubbles. This specific design is best used for effervescent, sour, fruity beers like Fruited Gose and Sour Ales.
