Porter

Originating in London in the early 1700s, the name comes from its popularity within the London Porter community who are responsible for cargo carrying tasks. Originally called the ‘stout porters’, porters were actually the predecessor of most black beers, including Stouts.
The Canard Porter reflects its origins for a light body, black beer with full savoury notes of coffee, chocolate, toasty malt, and toffee aromas. The roasty bitterness in our porter adds a complexity that exists separately from the sharpness of its hops. It has a moderately high carbonation with a fairly dry, clean finish.
COMPATIBLE GLASSES
The Nonic is a thick beer glass that has a small lip at the mouth and a bulge near the mouth. The Nonic is the European counterpart of the American Shaker Pint. The bulge helps with stacking the glass without getting stuck. The Nonic is best used for English Ales, but also widely-used for many other styles.

The Thistle, a Scottish version of the Tulip Glass, is a slightly taller, curvier glass. It has the bulbous body on a stem, with a flare at the mouth. It is typically used for robust, hoppy, malty, aromatic brews like Scottish Ales, Imperial IPAs, and Belgian Ales.

This versatile red wine glass is designed to perfect the art of balancing tannings and concentrated dried fruit aromas typical of medium-bodied red wines. The large, tall bowl concentrates the more raisiny, dark fruity aromas, while mellowing the dark tannins, and the tapered rim focuses the aroma upward the nostril. This design is best used for medium body brown and black beers like Porter.

An American Shaker Pint glass is a thick glass with a wider tapering on the mouth and a slightly narrower base. This glass got its name from being used as martini shakers. This glass is an all-purpose glass commonly used across America.

Red Wine glasses are typically designed to balance the bitterness of tannins or spicy flavours to deliver a smoother tasting wine. It is bigger than its white counterpart, and its job is to soften ‘spicy’ flavours by letting it hit the tongue more progressively from the smaller opening and larger bowl. Darker, roasted malt beers really benefit from this balancing feature. It is great for English Porter and Stouts.
